A Traditional Tool for Cleansing, Protection & Spellwork

Before the circle is cast, the space is prepared. Before the threshold is crossed, the way is cleared.

The besom has long held its place within witchcraft as both a practical object and a magickal tool.

Used to clear ritual space, guard the threshold & prepare a place for working, the witch's broom carries an unmistakable symbolism: what does not belong here is swept away. What the witch chooses to welcome may then enter.

This handcrafted 36" raw straw besom is created for use within the witch's home & practice. Each is dressed with botanical materia selected for its magickal properties, anointed with my handcrafted Prosperity & Protection Oil & finished with your choice of removable black or purple ribbon.

Each besom is prepared as a working instrument of the Craft, bringing together traditional botanical correspondences, the physical act of sweeping & the intention of the witch who holds it.

No two besoms are exactly alike. Each is made by hand, allowing the natural straw, herbs & binding to retain the character of the materials themselves.

THE BOTANICALS

Each besom is prepared with botanicals selected for their associations with cleansing, protection, prosperity & household harmony. Rosemary, lavender & cinnamon form the foundation of these correspondences, while sorghum, sagebrush & mint may also be incorporated into individual besoms.

Rosemary • Cleansing | Protection | Purification

Rosemary has a long history within folk practice as a protective & cleansing herb. Worked into the besom, it strengthens its traditional purpose of clearing unwanted influences & preparing space for magickal work.

Lavender • Peace | Protection | Harmony

Lavender brings a gentler protection to the working, traditionally associated with peace, purification & the settling of discord within the home.

Cinnamon • Prosperity | Protection | Success

Warm, fiery cinnamon carries properties of prosperity, success & protection. Its nature lends movement to workings intended to draw opportunity, abundance & favorable conditions.

Sorghum • Prosperity | Abundance | Household Protection

Historically used in broommaking, sorghum carries a natural connection to the harvest, the household & the preservation of what has been gathered. Incorporated as additional botanical materia, it brings the correspondences of abundance, provision & prosperity to the working.

Sagebrush • Cleansing | Protection | Clearing

Associated with purification & the removal of unwanted influences, sagebrush brings the symbolism of resilient wild growth to workings of protection, clearing & renewal.

Mint • Prosperity | Vitality | Renewal

Traditionally associated with prosperity, vitality & refreshing influences, mint lends its properties to workings intended to welcome abundance, encourage opportunity & invite fresh beginnings.

Botanical additions may vary from besom to besom. Each is individually prepared, allowing the materia to contribute its own properties to the finished working tool.

PROSPERITY & PROTECTION OIL

The finished besom is anointed with my handcrafted Prosperity & Protection Oil, bringing another layer of correspondence to the botanicals already bound within it.

WORKING WITH YOUR BESOM

A besom used magickally does not need to touch the floor. Instead, sweep just above its surface, allowing the physical action of sweeping to become part of the working itself.

Before ritual or spellwork, sweep the area to clear what has accumulated there & prepare the space for what comes next.

Well! Let me tell you ‘bout my besom! Lid is masterful and can make all your besom dreams come true!!!!! As I placed my order, I got a little more into customizing my besom that her options stated. She accommodated every one! I wanted to work with my third eye, but as you can see my besom needed an element of protection due to where it is stored. And! After chatting with Lia, who is AMAZING, and knows her stuff!!!, she even adorned the besom with a charm for my fiery, Athena! Shipping was also nice and fast! I would have never imagined there’s a way to make a box for a besom lol. Place your orders for an amazingggggg besom!!!! I’ll be back, that’s for sure!!!!!

I'm so excited to receive this witch broom. It's going to look great on my front door.

Order was placed on 12/1, but wasn't shipped until 12/18. Did not arrive for Christmas. Glad I opened it outside, as it looked as though it had rough travels to get here. Seller offered a refund on 12/27, but I haven't received it yet. Must be traveling as slow as the besom did.

This item came beautifully gift wrapped and it smells divine ! I went in to purchase another one; but see they are all sold out ! I feel very Blessed to have received it !

Even before opening I could smell the scents and once unwrapped I could not only appreciate its beauty, craftsmanship, but also feel the warmth and love that went into making this piece; a treasure for the senses as well as spirit.
